Rare: 1-10 records in the province per year: only slightly out of range.
 
Casual: 2-20+ records: on a five-year average species is not seen every year: species is somewhat out of normal range.
 
Accidental: singe record or under 5 records for the province in a hundred year period: usually far outside normal range.

Vagrant: wanderer outside normal migration range of the species: not expected to occur again.  

Migrant: species migrates during the spring and fall period. In most cases, spring and fall are subdivided into the following categories:
 
            Early spring: March – April
            Late Spring: May
            Summer: June
            Early Fall: July – August
            Late Fall: September – December
            Winter: December - February
